about maggie
For as long as I can remember, I have loved old homes. I dream about creaky wood floors, basketweave tile and you can’t convince me that there’s anything better than the woodwork in an Edwardian craftsman.
I think what I love about old homes, however, and what eventually led me to a career in real estate, is the life lived in them. The stories their walls hold of normal, wonderful and messy everyday life - stories of a million meals being made in a crowded kitchen, of "dinnertime!" being called from the back door, of homework at dining room tables and rushing to the window at the sight of the first snow of the year. My own home is my safe and sacred place, where I can regulate my nervous system, gather inspiration, and feel peace. What an incredible honor to help others find their own sacred space to create stories of their own in as well.
My husband Mike and I are raising our two sons in a 1920's colonial where we can watch the moon rise over Lake Superior from our bedroom window and make friends with the many deer that use our back woods to lay their sleepy heads each night. I spend my time having adventures up the North Shore with my boys, perusing the aisles of thrift stores looking for quirky treasures, lovingly nursing my sourdough starter and hyper fixating on my current fiber art obsession (which changes fairly regularly).
